I’m running Copilot Truck GPS and want to buy another receiver to use on my laptop. Will any brand work?

I want to leave the one receiver that came with the program on the truck and have another GPS receiver to plug in to the computer on the car

No. But most of them will. Here are a couple of different solutions for you.

1. Get Microsoft Streets and Trips which comes with its own GPS receiver. It costs around $75 at Best Buy and other stores. That receiver will work with CPT 11, plus you will have a copy of Streets and Trips.

2. Get a Delorme LT-40 receiver from Best Buy, Radio shack, online, etc. It works with CPT 11 once you install the Delorme “Serial Port Emulator” program from Delorme’s site.

3. Get a BU-353 from this site: http://www.buygpsnow.com/bu-353-353-bu-globalsat-gps-mouse-water-proof-receiver-sirf-stariii-usb-gps-water-bu-353-waas-455.aspx. ($37) It works quite well also.

There are others out there, but those 3 are the units that I have experience with.
