IN car navigation software?

Hi ive just bought a double-DIN DVD player for my car, which comes with a compatible receiver … it is not one satnav SOFTWARE then come a friend gave me an old version of Tom Tom that installés and works, is but years out of date … does anybody know were i can get / some to buy and install new software on it? (think the device runs on Windows 5 and has an executable (. exe) have to run the software), although the tom tom software it works is nothing to be desired on DVD player systems, so i dont know what to do? any help on this would be great!
